Is the calculator app new to ios 18? I never noticed it until I started updating ipads to ios18. Is there a way to remove/hide the calculator app with a configuration profile?

Thanks

It is new, you can use the

Restrictions: Apps config profile to block it.

I agree with @mattjerome ,
@acamare10 Here are the settings you can do:

Device > Configuration Profiles > add Restrictions > Apps > App Usage > Some apps not Allowed > add app calculator + Bundle ID com.apple.calculator ( add app if any more calculator ) Enabled > Save

This is not working for me when I try to stop Calculator, Settings, & Passwords to show up on the iPad. I have a few iPads that I set up for Special Needs students.

@Icka
What is the log that appears after you push the Configuration profile? what is the status Complete?
What you need to pay attention to is that the device must be supervised, if it is not supervised, even though the status is complated, it will not work

Sorry, I did not notice there was a response to my post. Thank you for your time. I was able to ge the Calculator and Passwords to not show up on the iPad but I cannot get Settings to not show up. Not sure why. All of our devices are supervised.

The settings app is not blockable. If you want to stop something from being changed, I suggest using the config profiles to block it.
