newbie alert!

I am trying to set up my first configuration profile but I get a gray disk in the dashboard presentation after I scope it to a smart group that works with policies. The config profile says there are no devices selected to send it to. Any ideas?

Are the Macs showing up as members of the smart group?

Might also be worth checking that them are MDM capable (check in one of the computers inventory record under "General" for MDM Capability).

They are showing up as members. I ran a policy on the group and it ran. They are all MDM capable.

Sounds like thats all working ok then. What happens if you scope the same config profile directly to one of the computers? (just to see if it is a smart group / dashboard issue only).

Also, when you scope it to the smart group, does the profile actually deploy? Again just wondering if it is a dashboard issue only.

Good ideas. I will check when I catch a break.

I have had a chance to look at the dashboard this am and now the pie chart for my config profile is green and it says that 2 machines have the profile. Pending is listed as "N/A" ?!*? No failures listed. : ( grrrrrrr

I just got off the phone with my account mng. I have been going about this all wrong. I need to scope this profile to an LDAP group so the intended users get the profile. My smart computer group attempt is all wrong. I have to begin again so thanks for the effort and talk to you later.
