Hi all,

I have a new interesting development where Self Service fails to load on some student worker profiles on multi-use macbooks. It happens on newly imaged devices and new profiles that were created as well. But it is random.
We do not have a special configuration for student worker profiles nor any restrictions in place for them. Self Service as an app is generally available to all users and they should be able to at least load it.
We are on macOS Sequoia 15.0-15.5

Is there anything else I can try besides clearing the Self Service cache?

Hello!

Self Service randomly fails to load on student worker profiles on multi-use MacBooks running macOS Sequoia 15.0-15.5. Besides clearing the cache, try checking Jamf logs, reinstalling Self Service, testing in Safe Mode, and verifying profile permissions. If the issue persists, Jamf Nation forums may have additional troubleshooting steps.

Try this

1) Drag Self Service app to the trash.

2) In the users login keychain delete com.jamfsoftware.SelfService.privatekey and com.jamfsoftware.SelfService.publickey

3) In Terminal run sudo jamf policy to reinstall the Self Service app

4) Launch new Self Service app

We have had a couple of reports of Self Service not opening since updating to macOS 15.5.

@miniberry Can try rename / remove the self-service plist (~/Library/Preferences/com.jamfsoftware.selfservice.plist) and relaunch the self-service. In case, it's not working then can follow @Shyamsundar suggested steps.

Maybe sudo jamf manage in Terminal. Re-enroll a Mac or two to see if that does it.

This issue may arise due to various factors, including server downtime, network connectivity problems, misconfigured settings, or software bugs. Users may encounter a blank page, slow loading, or error messages. Troubleshooting should begin with checking the internet connection, clearing browser cache, and trying a different browser. I

Thank you all! I will try all the different methods and report back with what worked. 🙏

We had this happen to a group of our computers. I went through all the troubleshooting steps that have been shared above, and the issue was still occurring, but only within one tech's group of computers. It turned out that a single policy that was corrupt was causing the issue. When he deleted or unscoped the affected computers (I'm not sure which) then the Self Service issue resolved.
