I know that you can push WebClip profiles to shared iPads using the user deploy method but I can’t seem to get it working while using Shared iPads in Guest mode only. Has anyone been able to get WebClips sent to Shared iPads using the anonymous guest logins? I have tried every way I can think of and nothing seems to work.

Yep!  You’ll need to apply it at the user level and target the device group you want to deploy it to.  It’ll take a minute for it to appear on those devices after login.

**Under the General blade - scroll to the bottom and choose the “level”

We do have it in play with our loaners only having the Guest User.  It does however take a hot minute for the webclips to deploy.

This is how I have the profile built and sent to the device. No matter how long I wait I have never had the profile push down or even attempt to push down from Jamf. I have no idea what would be stopping this from working.

How long is a hot minute? I have waited hours and still haven’t had the profile attempt to install. I know you have to change the Level to User Level for deployment but what does your scope look like then?

Does it show pending or failed?  Do you have app restrictions in place as well?  If so, you’ll need to allow “com.apple.webapp”

No restrictions on the device at all. There is never a pending or failed command. What would the scope section look like for this scenario?

@sdecook the scope is the device(s) or device group(s) that you want to send it to.  It’ll install for any user that logs into one of the scoped devices.  Just be mindful of the restrictions on the device.  Without seeing the holistic setup, I can’t say either way.  OH and you’ll want the Web Clip profile being its own profile. Well, best practices anyways is 1 payload per profile, but I’ll let you do you.

The user should be set to specific users but don’t scope any users.

Something like this:

+1 on adding the profile for the shared devices as it’s own and not combined with other devices.  Are you sure the device is is the scope?

The scope question was mostly for my sanity in case I had something set wrong. Based on all the recommendations I have everything setup correctly from what I can tell and it still will not ever attempt to install the profile. I have left the device sit for almost an hour and nothing. This is super weird.

Does anything show up in Management HIstory that the profile was attempted? Is inventory updating? Are we sure wifi is connecting?
