SnagIT 2025 License Key Deployment issue

You'll need to use the "Snagit 2021 & Later Deployment Instructions" to create the deployable license file for Snagit 2025.

I too followed the same step, and created a textfile on a shared folder and placed the textfile with the License key

How would deploy the license from Jamf Pro with the package?

Yep, once you've created the license file with the name of "LicenseKey", you'll need to create a package to deploy the file to the /Users/Shared/TechSmith/Snagit/ folder.
When Snagit launches for the first time, it will look to that location to see if a license file is present with a valid license key, and if the file it there Snagit will be activated.

Other TechSmith products work the same way also such as Camtasia, but in that case the licence file is deployed to the /Users/Shared/TechSmith/Camtasia/ folder instead.

Been doing this since 2021 version, and for whatever reason, its not working for 2025 with the new subscription license vs perpetual. I can only activate manually.

@SlipStream is mentioned steps are correct but the issues is where you downloading the snagit.dmg it should be downloaded from snagitpassivelicense_release check with your snagit support team for the snagitpassivelicense_release download.

it never work via jamf.

@mani2care You need to use Composer to convert the DMG to PKG that should work.
