Hello all you Apple Rockstars!

I just noticed that there’s a whole reward system you can redeem points (“bytes”) for stuff.  Very cool.  Ivanti used to have something like this called Insiders, but the reward system was abruptly discontinued while I had lots of unspent points.

I’m not sure I fully understand what actions get points, but it looks like you get 5 points for the first posting/replying each day, and then a single point for each subsequent post/reply.

Doing some quick math:  If you want to get to 500 points, that would take you 100 days.  Assuming  you only did 1 post/reply a day, on normal workdays, thats 20 weeks.

Does that seem like an unreasonable amount of effort to get a tech mat or whatever?

I know they are doing this to stimulate customer engagement, but I think they would need to get more generous with the points for people to participate more.

What do you think?

Anyone had experience with redeeming points?  I’m not sure how long this has been a thing.

Hello @FerrisBNA I will let others comment on their thoughts and opinions on the program so far.

Jamf Rewards has been around for just over a year (please see announcement below). This is something new the organization is doing! We do not list every single reward that gets you points/bytes. (please see the rewards url in Jamf Nation for more info) You can obtain bytes/points in many different ways including contributions within Jamf Nation. Attending Jamf events might get you a reward or two!

Look forward to what others say about the program!

I just inquired to my Jamf rep about this rewards program today because my account says I’m about to lose all the rewards I have earned so far if I don’t “engage” with rewards by April 3rd.  I can’t figure out what counts for engagement though.  I found a thread on here that said you’d get bytes for subscribing to these discussions but did that and nothing changed….still getting message that I’m going to lose my rewards.  It also shows no activity since April 2025 and I am pretty sure that is inaccurate because I come to these forums all the time but maybe I didn’t reply or post or something.  I don’t know….but I reached out earlier today about it so we’ll see what they say.

Hello @DeniseL I actually looked at your account today. Your last reply on Jamf Nation was 4/3/2025. This is the reasoning as to why you are seeing that message.

Your sign in today and this reply will help to keep your rewards! Paul is out tomorrow but I will give him an update on your account status in the morning when rewards sync.

I have to admit that I forgot all about that feature…  <doh>

@FerrisBNA

I’m not going to name absolutely everything I’ve got points for but here’s a quick run down of some other things you can earn for:

Enroll in a Beta Program + 10 pts.

Community Activity + 25 pts. (I think this was a solution I gave)

JNUC Attendee 2025 + 250 pts.

Configure SSO + 2 pts. (I think for a limited time this earned even more points, I lost out because I was too eager I guess)

Presented about Jamf at an external conference + 25 pts.

JNUC Attendee 2024 + 100 pts.

Earn a Jamf 300 Certification + 50 pts.

That’s just a quick run through.  Depending on what you are doing and what specials they are running it might be quicker to earn.  I remember recently they had a 50% off most rewards sale too!

Happy earning!

@Mitchell_Gordon I’ll still talk to my rep about this more one on one...but I tried the sync activities button also and nothing changed.  It still says no activity since last year….so I’m still confused as to what counts for activity.  The activity log says JNUC for one thing so that’s an obvious one but the rest just says “Community Activity” and is non-descript as to what exactly I did in those instances to register as activity vs what I have been doing this whole last year where no activity is recorded.

@DeniseL we put “Community Activity” there so individuals do not try to take advantage of each item that gives bytes/points to individuals. I will be sure to check on your profile tomorrow and correct anything that might be needed.

I will be sure to check on your profile tomorrow and get back to you!

Not bad)) Your results look quite strong.
What seems a bit strange to me is that both the Jamf 100 and Jamf 300 certifications give the same number of points — 50 each.
In my opinion, certifications starting from Jamf 200 and above should probably have a different number of points for successful completion.

Hi @Mitchell_Gordon ,

I noticed that for the same reward items, the redeem points still change quite often. For example, some items like , Jamf 200 Course Certification , the Backpack or Hoodie previously had lower points, but now the points for the same items have increased again.

There was also a period of about one month when the points did not increase at all, but recently they have started increasing again according to the activity.

Perhaps the system is still in an adjustment phase, or should there no longer be any changes at this point?

Hello @agungsujiwo there were a few discount windows last year. One specifically was before JNUC so users could receive their merch before the start of the conference.

The points/bytes required to redeem rewards can be adjusted. When adjusted, Lysette usually makes an announcement about this in “From Jamf”. Be on the lookout for future discounts/new merch items!
