Is there a way to trigger an inventory update via an iPhone or iPad? Like on Mac where I can give that option in the SelfService.

For admins or users? Admins can simply send a command via Jamf:

For Users. I know the command, but when the devices has not sent an update for some time it seems that the Management Commands cannot reach it. Even when it is on and has a connection.

I don't think that's possible with the way APNs works. As far as I know, the devices cannot initiate inventory updates by themselves, they always need to receive an MDM command from an MDM server to do so.
