Hi,

I was wondering if it is possible to auto populate the user account name into a VPN payload created in Configuration Profiles. I would like the users to be able to just click on the VPN Status on the menu bar to connect & when prompted enter their password - no having to go into System preferences to add any details.
(Using os10.9 machines) Thanks

If you just put $Username into the field, it should auto populate.

Yes it's possible!

Make sure to apply the profile at user level (Tab Options - General - Level)

At Tab Options - VPN - Account (User account for authenticating the connection) we had to fill in $EMAIL. See Page 270 of the admin guide for more variables.

Fantastic - I foolishly had tried $USER instead of $USERNAME. I'll remember to RT*M in future. Thanks for your help!
