Yosemite 10.10.1 full installer

It wasn't working for me either, then @rtrouton being the genius that he is recommended downloading it from a 10.9.5 VM. Worked perfectly. If you have the ability to spin up a VM I'd recommend going that route.

I was able to download the full installer yesterday from the App Store. I wonder if a local CDN is still serving up the older version.

The copy I pulled down the day it was released was 10.10.1. I've been having USB 3.0 issues since the update. I dreamt that Apple secretly pulled/redid/reposted the 10.10.1 update. But then I woke up and realized it was just a dream. :(

I had been trying to download it on Monday from a 10.9.5 Mac. It took four attempts until it finally served 10.10.1.

I just went back into purchases yesterday, deleted the installer I still had in Applications (which AutoDMG reported as deprecated - nice!) and clicked download. Although it showed October 16th, it actually did download the 10.10.1 final.

@guidotti had the same thing happening with AutoDMG. Had to do a clean uninstall using AppCleaner, then install the newest release from Git and hit Cmd+U to update profiles. Once I did that it worked.

@donmontalvo - what sorts of USB3 issues are you seeing? I've been using USB3 HDD's since the seeds without issue (early 15" 2014 rMBP 11,3).

So USB 3.0 spec requires 900ma per port, I have one of these (provides 4amps which is more than needed for the 4 port), and never had a problem. Three 2.5" non-powered external drives and a thumb drive. Since upgrading to 10.10.1, my Mid 2014 MBPr crashes hard, two or more times a day. Disconnect the hub, problem goes away. I wish Apple gave us a way to roll back to 10.10.0.

Luckily I have OS X Server running at home, so I can easily backup/reimage/restore. Just a huge PITA.

Pretty much every port is filled with external hard drives and no issues at all. Same machine as well.

I've also had no USB3 or Thunderbolt issues with the newest build. Thanks for all of the information, everyone.

Don't use a hub here, but all USB3 and TB drives/devices working OK as well.
There were some on the seeds that had issues with hubs, but I can't verify as I don't use them.

@chriscollins That was one of the products I looked at. But since the USB 3.0 spec requires 900ma per port, that 7 port hub would require a 6.3amp power supply (only comes with a 5amp). I went with two smaller 4 port hubs that comes with a 4amp supply (more than required as per spec).

I'm just going from what I've Googled, I'm no expert on the stuff. :) I'm going to do some testing, if there is a USB 3.0 issue I'd like to report it to Apple.

Thanks all for the information. Tried downloading and installing again and it was indeed version 10.10.1. Anyone know of a good way to determine build or version number without actually installing it? I noticed Autodmg can determine the right version, so presumably it's buried somewhere in the installer as well.

I use the low-tech method of Get Info on the .app file, which is versioned in itself. 10.10 is 1.6.5
10.10.1 is 1.6.7

Or in the more likely case I don't recall the last version number of the installer, i fallback to the even lower-tech method of using the Created Date in the file system.

Hey @jlong

If you have AutoDMG installed (and why wouldn't you?), drag your freshly downloaded Installer app into AutoDMG and after a few seconds it'll tell you both the OS version and the Build number.

Much easier than the Created Date or a Os to app version list (sorry @htse!).
