Hi and sorry for the long message. 🙈

When SS+ is opened for the first time after enrollment, it does not show our custom branding or name. After restarting SS+, everything looks correct. I opened a support ticket about this issue, even though the release notes (2.22.0 (2026-05-26)
Resolved Issues for Self Service+
[PI-1004] Fixed: The first time Self Service+ launches on a computer using zero-touch deployment, the application fails to display custom branding.) said it had been fixed. Support told me that this was expected behavior or that the issue was not a priority and no changes are planned.

I now have a workaround in Setup Your Mac: a policy that closes and reopens SS+.

The preview text in the bookmarks section is not useful. You cannot open a bookmark inside SS+ to read the full text because clicking it immediately opens the link.

On the positive side, SS+ is fast, the custom banner finally scales correctly in comparison to legacy SS, and featured policies are now on the home page compared to the start of SS+.

Unfortunately, over the past few months, I have felt that SS+ is still in beta. That is why we waited until this summer to switch from legacy Self Service to SS+.

The presentation was out of this world.
Excited to see what’s up ahead. Great things are coming our way.

Awesome work Mariusz, Sarah, and Team.

Will love to display uptime and give it an easy button to run the check-in.

This week's Product Office Hours covered Self Service Plus, with Sara Graves (Senior Product Manager) and Mateusz Popialo (Principal Software Engineer). Here's every question asked during the session, pulled from both the live Q&A and the chat.

Will the custom app icon come back for macOS notifications from Self Service Classic patch policies? Right now they show the default Self Service Plus icon.

Some notification settings live in Jamf Pro and others sit outside Self Service Plus, so this needs checking on both sides. Recent work to rename the app changed its file paths and caused branding issues on newer macOS versions. If the old icon is only cached, it may clear on its own. If the default icon persists, that shouldn't happen, so please raise a support ticket so it can be investigated.

Is there a way to repair a corrupted Self Service menu bar item? Mine has disappeared, and so has the account management info, even though it came back after an update.

This sits with the Jamf Connect team, so it has been passed on. Community tip: removing the Self Service Plus app and running sudo jamf manage has worked for some admins, but not everyone. If you try it and still see the problem, add the details to a support ticket.

Could an acknowledgement button be added as a widget that reports back to Jamf?

We'd like to understand the why first. Most end users want fewer clicks, less scrolling and quicker access to what they need, so please share the specific use case behind this request so it can be looked into properly.

Are there plans for the new Self Service Plus Blueprint options to be available in high compliance environments?

We don't intend to exclude any customer base. If you're running into a restriction in a high compliance environment, please share the specific detail so it can be looked into.

Could the password expiry box be customized? We don't use Kerberos, but we can pull the expiry date from Entra and store it in a local plist.

Customizing account management tiles, including the Kerberos tile, is being worked on right now. Hiding or compressing an individual tile is a bigger change than it sounds, because removing one element changes how the whole layout displays, so it takes work across several teams.

Can custom Blueprint content add category links to the Self Service Plus sidebar?

Not yet. It needs more backend work first, so it's a possibility for the 2027 roadmap. In the meantime, external links, like the ones shown in the session, are the closer option, and that approach is still in discovery.

How soon will app catalog apps be available in Blueprints?

Apps in Blueprints (both App store apps and App Catalog apps) will be going into Open Beta next week, and GA in "hopefully" November

Open Beta of ALME in Blueprints

This has been noted and will go to the product team. There's no timeline to share yet.

Will Self Service Plus pick up user identity from Platform SSO (PSSO), so users don't need to log in again inside the app?

Yes. Work to support PSSO is planned for 2027, and it's already underway.

Can custom buttons in the menu bar run commands, such as a recon or a policy command?

Custom buttons can already trigger actions, such as opening a link or launching another app, and running a script from a button is possible in theory. Support for running recon or policy commands directly is still under consideration. Worth noting: the menu bar app is designed for frequent, quick interactions, so it won't copy everything Self Service Plus does.

Will application updates be available from the Self Service Plus menu bar, so users can self-serve updates like they can with AutoPatch or Iru?

To be determined. The plan is a first menu bar release that brings some current workflows into the menu bar, which can be shown or hidden, and discovery continues from there. Feedback like this helps shape what's included.

Can an uptime status be added to the Self Service Plus menu bar, similar to the Support app?

This wasn't covered in the session. Please add it as a feature request with your use case so it can be tracked. One community suggestion was to place it under the user account section in the app.

Will Self Service Plus support full Unicode emoji in its Markdown renderer, not just a few?

This wasn't covered in the session. Please raise it as a feature request so it can be tracked.

Will users be able to favorite apps in Self Service Plus, either as pins or in a dedicated favorites area?

This has already been submitted as a feature request, so thanks for adding your voice. Share how you'd like it to work so it can be weighed against other requests.

Could Self Service Plus show fleet-wide usage, such as how users browse and which items they open, so featured items can be chosen better?

This is a feature request rather than something in the current plans. Please add your voice and the specific reporting you need.

Are there resources on how to build great Self Service entries, like a standard template?

This wasn't answered live. We'll check whether there are resources to share alongside the transcript. If you have a template that works well, sharing it on Jamf Nation would help others.

Will the new My Devices and Vitals capabilities be limited to customers with the full Jamf suite? Many of these features already exist in Jamf Pro, and some customers run CrowdStrike.

Not confirmed yet. Please share which capabilities matter most to you, and why, so they can be looked into.

Will Vitals be able to collect local logs?

This wasn't covered in the session. Vitals is still in development and the UI isn't final, so please share the logs you need and why as a feature request.

Will My Devices require anything outside Jamf Pro?

This wasn't covered in the session. Please check back as the features develop, and share any specific requirements you have as feedback.

Will the Self Service Plus blueprint component support device hardware health monitoring, like tools such as Nexthink or SysTrack?

This wasn't covered in the session. Please add it as a feature request so it can be tracked.

How do we make the end user experience more self-sufficient, such as reboot prompts, banners for non-compliant devices and vulnerabilities users can fix themselves? Can we point to the ITSM knowledge base to answer questions?

We're aiming to keep integrating Jamf products, such as content controls and ZTNA, this year. Ideas like reboot prompts and self-fix steps for vulnerabilities are useful input, so please add them as feature requests. Pointing users to your own knowledge base wasn't covered in the session.

Could IT give users a Jamf MCP connector, for example in Claude, restricted to their assigned devices?

This wasn't covered in the session. Please raise it as a feature request so it can be tracked.

Will Self Service Plus use on-device or cloud-hosted models for Vitals?

The plan is to use on-device models, including the ones Apple provides on the device.

Can the JSON for these customizations be shared, so it can be used as a template?

Not yet. The JSON can't be pasted into the Blueprint JSON editor until the feature is released in the Self Service Plus binary, which is in progress. Community tip: the Jamf Learn article on configuring Self Service administrator controls in a Blueprint is a useful reference in the meantime: https://learn.jamf.com/r/en-US/self-service-plus-documentation/Configuring_Self_Service_Administrator_Controls_in_a_Blueprint

Will the category grid cope with organizations that have 30 to 40 categories, for example with a drop-down list or a More button?

This is useful feedback. Please add it as a feature request, including how many categories you run and how you'd like to browse them.
