I use the same dongle to load all MacBook Airs in my office, I recently noticed that if I load multiple Airs in a day with the same dongle they seem to replace each other in the JSS. Has anyone seen this or figured out a work around.

I'm busy updating the Adobe Flash for our existing 10.6 and 10.7 systems, but have been stumped on a best method for removing the non-update worthy 10.5 systems. Yes, I know I should upgrade them ASAP anyway, but looking to negate the latest security flaw for Flash in the meantime. Since .PKG files will not do an UNinstall, has anyone come up with a Kick-Ass script for removing the files from /Library/Internet Plug-Ins/Flash Player.plugin and the other parts of Flash?

H'lo everybody! Quick question: I'm trying to enable AirDrop over ethernet, which can be enabled via the command-line like so: defaults write com.apple.NetworkBrowser BrowseAllInterfaces 1 I'm trying to figure out how to translate that into a managed preference. I assume I'd have to create one manually, but I'm unsure how to fill in the various fields. Any help for a Managed Pref noob?

Hello JAMF Nation When i will send a push notifaction (Lock Device) over the Internet Explorer then i became the Message: The object does not support this property or methodviewiPhone.htmlline: 524sign: 5 In Firefox it works Great. has anyone an idea? Thanks

So, you ever do something stupid? I do something stupid fairly often. I was trying to enable root so I can modify some plists I couldn't access as admin on my backup server. I was able to ssh in, and add the root account to the ard kickstart thing and restart the service, but now whenever I try to connect to the machine ARD says Connection Failed. I checked the username and password, i tried the root and the admin. I ssh'd back in and rebooted the server, but I still can't get a desktop. Any suggestions on how to un-snafu this?

So I have some time carved out for this afternoon to do the Lion upgrade on our main JSS - I've read that we can install the community MySQL thing. Since I'm upgrading to Lion, do I need to bother with the SQL? Should I install SQL first then Upgrade? Is there any setup I have to do to JSS so it doesn't cause trouble?

We're using JSS to manage our iPads and have installed multiple apps (free and paid/vpp) without issue. Today, we've added a new paid app called 270toWin (using VPP) and are trying to have users install it. When they go to the Self Service app and select the app to install/redeem, the screen indicates loading then prompts an undocumented error: Cannot Open Self ServiceThe error was: "The URL can't be shown".[Close][Retry] Closing exits self-service and retry just reprompts the error. Has anyone troubleshooted through this issue or know what is going on? Thanks in advance.

Hi guys, I'm trying to use the Unlock Region Code Resource Kit Script on a 10.6 mac, & it doesn't seem to unlock the region code setting. The Mac is running 10.6.8. Can someone confirm please that this script still works or not. Thanks!

Hi all, Anyone experience or know why when I try to push something with Casper Remote 8.4 it just takes forever? If I do as a policy from the JSS, whatever I install is done in record time. My JSS is 8.4 on server 10.6.8. Clients some 10.6.8, some 10.7.3. All client jamf binaries are at 8.4

Greetings fellow JAMFers, I am a fairly new Mac/JAMF admin, coming from the Windows world. I am trying to get a handle on doing scripting for these systems. I have tried to upload a simple script from our JSS Casper Admin, but it is coming up as a red script with the type "missing." Question is- What is the simplest way of creating .sh scripts so I can upload them and deploy them to my users. Sorry for such a simple question, but as they say, the only dumb question is the one not asked. Thank youRobert Bingham.

Hi folks, I've emailed support, but always good to ask here too. Casper Admin has been working without issue, today it chucked up the error that the share was read only. Nothing has changed on the share. I did the option click on the Casper Admin, re-entered the URL. This now returns a connection error to the URL and error code 7. I have a working connection via my browser to the JSS

I have a computer that i just imaged, and i cannot find it in casper remote, need to add a printer to it, when i search in remote i get 0 of 262 computers found, when i search the jss in web browser i see 263 computers, and find the computer there.i have deleted the computer from jss, recon'd the machine again it shows up in jss but not in remote, restarted the mysql and tomcat processes nothing seems to help any ideas?

I can't seem to find a way to include our Wi-Fi details in our image. I've tried creating a script that adds the SSID and WPA2 password during the imaging process and running that during imaging but it fails. The same script works from the command line, but not during the imaging. It's the script from the JAMF resource kit. Any light someone could shed on the matter would be great. The command the script executes is /usr/sbin/networksetup -addpreferredwirelessnetworkatindex en0 "ourSSID" 0 wpa2 "wifipassword" The error message that is returned is "en0 is not a Wi-Fi interface." Am I going about the wrong way to include the WiFi information at imaging time? Thanks

We are using Casper 8.4. Using the built-in certificates and following the 8.4 Documentation, we have installed Apple Push Notifications on Casper. We have successfully enrolled a couple IOS devices (ipod touch and ipad) using the enrollment URL.However, we have noticed the Self Service Web clip does not seem to download to the device once it is enrolled. I think although Casper shows these devices enrolled, the key problem could be that communication of the device does not seem to be communicating with our Casper server. We have tried to request an updated inventory of our IOS devices, but nothing happens. Does anyone have any idea what the problem could be? Or could someone point us in the right direction please? Thanks,Peter

:| thanks

Where can I get the download to upgrade to Casper 8.3? I understand there is a newer version of Casper coming out very soon but I have 640 Macbook Airs to image immediately. I'm having some problems imaging the Lion Macbook Airs with my current version of Casper. I never received an email from my account rep to download. I've tried calling Casper but they must be out of town for the holidays still. Jamie BellApple Technology SpecialistThe Westminster SchoolsPh: 404-609-6345

I am trying to get the configuration profiles working to deploy 802.1x to lion machines. If i send the .mobileconfig file everything works great. That is of course not a good deployment strategy. My issue comes from importing that into the JSS. It does not import correctly. When I try to set it up manually, I cannot get it to recognize that I have a certificate added. It just says:Trusted Certificates Certificates trusted/expected for authenticationNo certificates available -- use 'Credentials' tab to add Has anyone gotten this to work?

Early in the Securing the JSS session a slide was shown that outlined the common ports to open in the firewall of an OS X box - and then a link to the KBase was also shown. Does anyone have the ability to share the content of that slide, or to provide the link to the port listing on Apple's Kbase?
