10.5.6 Laptop Airport Issues - Build numbers

Apple posts the build numbers included with new Macs in their knowledge
base:
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1159

You'll notice the 17-inch MacBook Pro (Early 2009) ships with build number
9G2141 and that the new Mac Pro (Early 2009) ships with 9G3553. 9G3553 is
sequentially higher than 9G2141.

Since the Mac Pro has the very latest build, it includes all of the drivers
for any older systems or earlier builds. If you are expecting any Mac Pro
(Early 2009) models, you'll want to use that to build your base OS.

Once 10.5.7 is released, you won't have to pay to close attention to the
build numbers until a model is updated or a new product is released. Always
verify the KB article mentioned above to verify. Apple usually updates it
within a few days after new products are shipped.

A good way to run a report through ARD admin or dummy packages on Casper
to get the proper build information is as simple as:

system_profiler SPSoftwareDataType | grep System
