Hi All, can anyone comment on what might be going on? Using Casper Remote
8.1, if I remote to a computer that a user 'Allows'control, for the most
part it appears to be rock solid whether 10 feet away or 3000 miles. BUT,
If I were to just touch a different resolution on said computer the
connection terminates. As well, when controlling a computer that is not
logged into it is rock solid UNTIL I login to this computer then it
consistently and immediately disconnects???? Seems related to any major
screen change, But not windows opening and closing or moving around.
Thanks in advance

This is normal behavior. When you login I believe it starts a new windows session and the VPN tool can't handle that. The same happens at a resolution change.
The reconnect button has never worked. I'm not in 8.21 yet, but if they've transitioned to using the Apple tools for this like I think I read, this may be much better.

Indeed. When the security context of the main console changes, the existing VNC process is no longer able to maintain its connection to it. Thus, the VNC server side (the one you're connecting to) exits with an error, and the client side (running Casper Remote) can do nothing to reconnect. This happens with Apple's Screen Sharing too, but that provides a new instance automatically when the context changes, so it's able to automatically reconnect.
Perhaps a resolution (and probably multiple monitor setup) change also triggers a context change, but that might simply be an issue with that version of the VNC protocol not supporting RandR extensions for resolution changes and the like. Or the client/server not implementing it. Try the reconnect button in those cases; it might work.
