There's multiple discussions on JAMF Nation and outside on how to do this, but I can't seem to figure out if it's possible through JSS itself in 8.63 without having to write a custom mobileconfig file

I can see the option for "Use as a Login Window configuration" and "Use Directory Authentication" but I never see the option. I'm also having weird issues not being able to edit the XML that's being spit out from the mobileconfig files that are generated from JSS.

Thoughts?

Personally, I don't use Casper to deploy configuration profiles directly. I create them on OS X Server and modify them by hand or script where needed and install via script (usually as a postflight script in a pkg for easy deployment).

I usually embed the XML into a script which gets echo'd to a temp file from the postflight script, so no payload is required. Run the script and you're done.

I don't really see the benefit of having the JSS create or manage mobileconfig files for OS X. Like you mentioned, I like having the control of editing the XML myself, and profiles are very simple to deploy via a pkg.
