Question

Clients cannot connect to Software Update Server

Forum|alt.badge.img+4

Hi - I know that this is not a general Mac Server forum but I thought I would try it anyway. We have 10.9.x Server running Software Update Server. I have the client pointing to the Casper server successfully. But when I check for update on clients I get a Message "An Error has occured, Cannot connect to the Software Update Server". The clients can ping the server inside and outside the network. Can someone point me in the right direction to resolve this?

Thank you

Is there anything between the clients and the server that could be blocking TCP port 8088?

Thank you Elliott. I just did open port 8088 on our firewall. Client are still not connecting. I did a port scan on the server and it looks like port 8088 is not open. Strange since SUS uses Port 8088 by default ...I would think it would automatically by open on the server. Anyway....I am going to look into how to open the specific port 8088 on the server. The server firewall is off.
