Does anyone know or have a basic walkthrough for setting up laps?  Never used an api before.

There's more info about the Laps feature in the release notes:

https://learn.jamf.com/bundle/jamf-pro-release-notes-current/page/New_Features_and_Enhancements.html

Right now you have to use the API to do the work. You also need to have the local account that you want to use laps on be created during the PreStage. Sounds like in a future release they will add it to the Jamf pro GUI.

(Note: This feature is currently only available via the Jamf Pro API but will be added to the user interface in a future release of Jamf Pro.)

So you might want to wait..
