Macs and TestNav

Not applicable

This topic may have been covered before, if so, I missed it. Have any of you
used MacBooks for End of Course online testing? I used them for some TELPAS
testing, there were only a handful so I installed TestNav manually. EOC will
have many more students taking the test. Can I set TestNav up on a computer,
take a snapshot using Casper to make a dmg then put it in self-service??

Any help would be appreciated!

Thank you!

I'm not sure what your install requires (Texas vs Minnesota) but we have
successfully used Composer to create install packages for TestNav. (Be
sure to follow standard setup proceedures and launch the setupclient.command
before taking the final snap shot to build the package.) We use multiple
proxy servers so we create two packages. One to install TestNav and another
to set the proxy settings. (The proxy install package was created by
dragging an edited proxysettings.properties file into Composer.)

Yeah the Pains, I had to push this out to 4000 computers. The 2 Issues with Capturing it was it had to have a alias in / that pointed to the Application and install and Data. It also has to install a Flash Player Trust in /Library/Application Support/Macromedia/FlashPlayerTrust/testnav.cfg I captured the App install first. Make sure it Captured the trust then I ran this Script as a after Script.

This says Volumes/telpasMAC because we had the App on a Share point, if you want to install it locally it would probably say /Applications/telpas. This creates the required Alias

ln -shf /Volumes/telpasMAC /testnav

chmod 644 "/Library/Application Support/Macromedia/FlashPlayerTrust/testnav.cfg"
