Has anyone found an easy/effective way to take data that gets assigned via LDAP (first name and last name) and assign it to the Computer Name field in JSS?
Here's an example of what we're looking to do:
If we have a computer called MacBook Pro (73) that's assigned to a user John Smith via LDAP entry and the computer indicates that the model is a MacBook Pro (15-inch, 2018). We would like to extrapolate the John Smith and the MacBook Pro from their respective fields and map some form of expression to the Computer Name field. For example in this case it would be "Full Name - Model" to yield "John Smith - MacBook Pro".
Obviously, this is just an example but we'd like to be able to populate the computer assignment via LDAP and have the computer name be automatically re-assigned on next check-in (or inventory).
Any thoughts or ideas on how to accomplish this?
