Question

scripts not working in self service

Forum|alt.badge.img+11

Hi Guys

Any of you had problems running scripts from a self service policy?

I have a script that runs fine and i setup a policy for self service, however when i try to run it in self service it doesn't run,

Self Service says its processing, loading eh data from the server and then it just returns to the main page.

It should mount the share and copy the script to /tmp and then run it, but it never copies it,

Ive tried it on different computers from different DP's and different self service logins and nothing ever happens

Any ideas?

One thing to keep in mind with scripts and self service is by default everything runs as root and not as a user. So if you are wanting to execute a command in the user space you might have to adjust your script some.

If using Applescript, how can you force the script to run as the logged in user and not as root if the script is launched from Self Service? I admit to being new to this.
