+23We are running 8.4 and I'm trying to deploy apps to specific machines via self service. I'm finding the .dmg app seems to copy down properly, but SS locks up (the blue progress bar stops moving).
I recall that a while ago we tried turning off the recon and that seemed to work, but it doesn't seem to matter now.
Anybody else tried this or have any suggestions?
+23as a follow up, I noticed if I right clicked on the background of self service and can do reload, the progress bar goes to about 90% and then freezes again.
I looked through the logs and don't see anything much passed the policy getting called to install the software.
+6I use to have the same issue. I turned off HTTP on the policies. this also speeds up larger packages as it dose not copy down to the client computer first and then install, it just mounts the dmg and installs. the only down side is no resumable installs (no big deal) and if your server is in a DMZ i do not think your end users that are outside of the network can run the install with out vpn.
