🎉 Happy New Year! 🥳
Â
It is traditional to use the beginning of the year to make plans. Conferences and the associated travel require quite a bit of planning. I keep an overview of the larger conferences in the Mac and wider Apple management and security community on my website, but thought a bit of a more detailed overview might be useful.
Whether you want to "just" attend or even hand in a proposal for a talk, here is a list of conferences this year with links to their websites.
Â
MacAD.UK: Brighton, UK, April 21–22
This conference in Brighton on the British coast, south of London, has been bringing together Apple management professionals from the United Kingdom and all over Europe for several years. This year, they are moving to a new venue in Brighton.
Â
ACES Conference: Minneapolis, MN, USA, May 12–13
ACES focuses more on the business side of providing IT services in the Apple space and as such, is quite interesting for partners and service providers. This year, they have a new track dedicated to the employees of service providers, i.e. the engineers and consultants.
Â
Apple WWDC: online, no dates yet, probably June 8–12
Apple's World Wide Developer Conference is obviously not a conference dedicated to Apple device management. This is where Apple introduces their new platform updates and technologies and so, it is also the event where Mac and iOS admins learn about new features for their device management services. In the past years, there have always been a few sessions dedicated to management technologies among the hundreds of recorded sessions. WWDC is also when Apple releases the first betas for the new major platforms and when everybody should start their testing cycles.
Â
MacDevOps: Montreal, Canada, June 25–26
This year, MacDevOps will take place in Montreal, Canada. As the name implies, this conference focuses on the DevOps aspect of Apple device management, i.e. the application of development workflows and practices to admin tasks, as well as open source tools and communities.
Â
PSU MacAdmins Conference: Penn State University, PA, USA, July 7–10
The largest non-vendor-run conference in the Mac Admins space. There are workshops and sessions for every topic from excellent speakers from the Mac Admins community.
Â
Mac Admins India Connect: India, August?
Last year saw the first community conference for Mac Admins in Bengaluru, India, and they are planning to continue this year.
Â
Jamf Nation User Conference, Kansas City, Missouri, USA, September 22-25
JNUC is the largest conference in the Apple management space. This year, it will be in Kansas City, MO, so aside from sating your appetite for knowledge and networking, you can also have great BBQ! This is where Jamf sets the stage for upcoming technologies and features, but there are also hundreds of sessions from Jamf engineers and community members.
Â
MacSysAdmin: Göteborg, Sweden, September 29–October 2
For two decades now, Mac and Apple admins have met in Göteborg to discuss and talk about Apple device management. This four-day, single-track conference is packed with great speakers and sessions.
Â
Objective by the Sea: October
This conference focuses on security topics in the Apple environment, which is an interesting and important subject for device management, as well. No dates or location have been announced for 2026 yet, but it usually takes place in October and alternates between Hawaii and Spain.
Â
Xworld: Australia
Xworld and MacSysAdmin both have claims to being the longest-running Mac Admin conference, depending on how you count. No dates or location have been set for Xworld 2026 yet.
Â
MacConnect: Paris, France (in French)
Last year also saw the first French-language conference for Mac Admins in Paris. While the organizers said there will be a follow-up this year under the new name 'MacConnect,' no dates are set yet.
Â
But wait, there's more…
Â
This is a list of the conferences that have been announced or can be expected to return this year. There might be more conferences and events coming up. Watch for announcements on Jamf Nation and my weekly news summary. I also regularly update the list of conferences on my website.
Jamf also organizes Jamf Nation Live (JNL) and Jamf Nation Meetup (JNMU) events throughout the year in cities all around the world, as well as smaller local events for partners and administrators.
Then there are local meetups, organized by the community. Some are quite successful and regular, while others are still finding their rhythm. You can check the User Groups section on Jamf Nation or the #meetups channel on Mac Admins Slack to see if there is one near you.
User groups are a great place to meet local colleagues and partners, but can also be a great place to practice presenting before starting to put in your proposals for the bigger conferences.
