Mobile Device Configuration Profile Prompt for User input

Hi All,
I have my configuration profiles built in configurator - work fine. When I import them into Casper, the blank fields that used to prompt the user of input are changed to variables like [$USERNAME]. Specifically in Exchange ActiveSync User field. Email Address in Configurator defaults to username@host.
I don't have the proper info in JSS to take advantage of [$USERNAME] - that will be a later project. Is there a way to get this back blank so it prompts the user for input?
