HI all, Im trying to implement a way of sending out a nofication (branded if possible, but not necessary) that says something like 'A new version of Firefox is available' that the users can then download from self service, in the same way Apple Software Updates or Jamf notifications appear As I said it would be nice if I can get my company logo (the same one I have used as the Logo for Self Service) in there somewhere, but if not that's fine Any help appreciated!

If we set a policy Execution Frequency to "OnGoing" will the script only apply the policy if there has been a change or not already applied to the computer? If we have software or a configuration in place and set it to ongoing at "Recurring Check-in" will it only apply the policy once and just check if there are changes? For example, I'd like to leave some of the software installs or preference policies available for Jamf Self Service in case they need to reinstall the option or if they make changes to something and they want the ability to re-apply the policy. Also maybe it's software we require to be installed and they remove it then the policy would kick in to re-install. Just curious if it will keep re-installing the same policy over and over if left to "OnGoing" with "Recurring Check-in"?

Hi all,Not sure why this is failing. I have an Extension Attribute that will simply not populate and I truly cannot figure out why. This EA runs a script that checks for the existence of a certificate on a custom keychain, then outputs either "Found" or "Not found" accordingly. Hi,I'm a sys admin and not much of a dev. I'm trying to extract a list of all computers I have in JAMF so I can list it on a sheet. I'm using Workato with the JAMF App integrated but I can only get a serial number per machine and not all computers at once. We want to automate the process to get our inventory up to date every day. Anyone has experience with this or know how to? Thanks

Hello,I am getting our DEP workflow resolved and I think I finally have it where the system will install all of the policies necessary at the initial prep. However, now I am noticing a different error. The Mac Inventory never uploads to the JSS. When I look at the Mac entry all of the details are empty: 0 Applications, 0 Plugins, no data for any EA. Oddly it does have some correct data: IP Address, Profiles, Certificates, Services. If I open Terminal and run a jamf recon, everything runs through until the "Submitting data". I then get "Unknown Error - An unknown error has occurred". We have a Policy in Self Service to run the Update Inventory, and when I run that it shows complete, but still no data is sent to the JSS. I can install any of the other Policies in Self Service with no problems. It's just the Inventory that will not upload. So, what to I check next to see why this isn't uploading? Thank, Tim

I have a Policy set to run first after Macs enroll in JamfPro that only contains the following in "Files and Processes"softwareupdate --install-rosetta --agree-to-licenseAnd for the most part it works great. The problem is that I have seen a lot of M1 Macs unable to install some packages because they are missing Rosetta. When I check the Policy log for installing Rosetta, the command does run, but it seems to successfully fail. There appears to be an issue with getting the Rosetta installer from Apple at that particular moment the command was run. Usually there will be a line that says "Rosetta is unavailable" or other messages about the server isn't available. I've been trying to find a fleshed-out script that can check for errors while executing that one-liner and tell Jamf that it failed so it shows as an actual failure. Does anyone have a script that takes these server-side failures into account?I've already tried obtaining the Rosetta pkg via instructions found here https://stacko

Hi We are running into issues installing app store apps and I think it's because our VPP server token has been revoked. I believe this token was set up in an old employee's account and I can't find where to get a new token to upload. I have checked our abm account and can't find it anywhere. I read on a Jamf post that VPP is no longer supported after January 2021? Is this the case? How can I go about installing app store apps with Jamf pro if so?

Hey there,we're trying to set some advanced settings in Microsoft Outlook. We want to tick the red outlined box and enable SSL.Right now we're using this script, which work's, but throws an error. I think it's because I don't define the default exchange account and I don't really know how to do it. Shouldn't it be just "exchange account 1"? Is there a way to enable notifications for applications without locking the user out from changing what the notification settings are? Right now, I have a test profile that only has "NotificationsEnabled" set to true:But when the profile installs, the user is locked out of any other changes:If there is no profile and the user enables notifications themselves, they can make changes to their hearts delight:

Is there a way to put a macOS device into Lost Mode so it can provide the location of the device?  Similar to what is available for iOS devices within Management. I do not see that feature under Management for macOS devices.

I have an iPad that we are removing from the fleet and I did not do the remote wipe first before I removed it from Jamf and School Manager. When I connect it to the internet it shows up in Jamf as "mobile device" but none of the commands are available. I cannot remove the MDM profile and it will not let me "erase all content and settings". I have tried to re-enroll it but it will not let me since there is already a profile installed.  Any help is appreciated

If a certain app has a bug or a security flaw that is patched in a later version, and I want to know which Macs are still running any unpatched versions, is there no way to easily find that through advanced computer search?  Sure, I could try to export results and manipulate the spreadsheet, but seriously am I missing something?  Because that seems like it should be a very basic search function.

Hi all,i  have a set of Gen7 devices that were released from DEP that now need to be used for a project.I can successfully re-enroll using an enrollment profile  with Apple Configurator.Once this is done, the record in jamf shows institutional device, supervised  and managed.On the device, however, there’s a Red link on both the mdm and cert. to Remove the profile.I seem to recall there is a window of time that allows this.1. is there a way to enroll where the profiles cannot be removed?2. If no, how long is that window before the profiles cannot be removed. thanks for any insight you might have!

Just wondered if anyone knows of any way to get reports (that could be used in an audit for example) to verify MacOS device wipes initiated from within JAMF Pro? It doesn't look like this functionality exists within the product but wanted to check.We also tested device wipe using a solution from Blancco, however, while it does generate comprehensive reports, it does so prior to the wipe actually executing, meaning the report cannot be relied upon. It wasn't worth the additional effort to deploy a separate solution in that case. Many thanks.
