Job Description
Casper Engineer and Mac Software Packager who works in the Managed Client Services group as a Mac Client Engineer. A highly skilled seasoned Macintosh Client Engineer who applies a broad and in-depth working knowledge of Macintosh computers to a wide variety of assignments through the application of technical concepts, practices, and procedures. The primary functions of this position are to manage the Casper infrastructure and to manage Macintosh clients in a distributed computing environment. This includes, but is not limited to, coordination of Mac software distribution, settings management, inventory discovery, software packaging, support automation, troubleshooting and resolving problems associated Mac systems. The applicant will work in a large, complex work environment with critical deadlines. Being able to work independently with little direction is a must.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Consult with the Customer on the timing for implementing software upgrades, to be determined by the Customer
• Monitor and maintain the Casper infrastructure across the Customer's global environment
• Develop software distribution packages for deployment via Casper Suite
• Maintain and improve documentation relating to the Casper Administration processes and procedures
• Monitor recommended and required corrections/patches to Third Party Software vendors and take appropriate action to distribute these updates
• Work with Customer IT, business, finance, procurement, legal departments, and asset management on inventory reporting from Casper
• Managing both MCX and Configuration Profiles to configure Mac settings
• Identify areas for improving the electronic software distribution processes, procedures and infrastructure
• Ensure the success of Casper software distributions while minimizing End User disruption and minimizing End User assistance and interaction
• Manage the validation of the records for software and equipment Configuration Items in CMDB or ITAM
• Preparing and delivering monthly Casper operational review for customer and internal management
