Adobe CS4 Air Install Hangs

Hi All,

Just trying to see if anyone else is seeing this issue.

We use the original Adobe CS4 Master College electronic download from Adobe
for all of our installs.

It would appear that with 10.6.3 it is the AIR install just sits and never
completes.

Not sure that Adobe has updated their Master Collection image to included an
updated AIR installer.

Thanks,

Craig E

Craig-

I have not seen that specific issue,( we have design premium and design standard) but we have seen a lot of articles advising against 10.6.3 and CS4
http://forums.adobe.com/thread/621515

Some 10.6.3 macs installed the suite and there are no issues. Others would not allow the Illustrator updates to install using the adobe updaters.
We tried manually updating the suite, and it would not progress more than a quarter inch in the progress bar.

We ended up copying the application from /Applications from a mac that did update to the mac that would not.

I've unchecked the 10.6.3 update from our SUS so no other users receive the update.

I have seen issues with the Adobe installers when dealing with a proxy
server. The AIR installer included with CS4 is outdated, and wants to
update as it's installing, but if you're behind a proxy server, it will
prompt for your authentication details. The problem is, the
authentication prompt pops up behind every other open window, so you
have to minimize everything to find it. This has been my experience
anyway.

I had to use Composer to capture the install manually rather than using
the "Adobe installer" options in Casper Admin.

Yeah, that's what I was doing right this minute actually...making a pack for
AIR.

Thanks!
