Apple released font fix for 10.6.7 (finally!)

Took a few months, and our partner company(ies) spent time "rolling back" Macs to 10.6.5/6...the fix is finally out:

If your users have printing or PDF problems, this should fix things. Our NYC graphic dept managers confirmed their problems are history.

Relevance: how many of you have techs "rolling back" their Mac users when these kinds of problems come up?

We usually wait several weeks before rolling updates.

Here, how base image was still a 10.6.4, while our SUS permitted to upgrade to 10.6.5. When 10.6.6 went out, we disabled the automatic update. That was a good idea as there was some problems while updating to 10.6.6 (computer won't reboot, or OS become corrupt). We waiting until today to create a new base image, 10.6.7, with the Font patch.

When such a problem arises, all of our team go on the field to clean the macs manually. That happened when we rolled out the first version of Acrobat Pro X that broke CS4 and CS5.

Testing takes quite long, but is vital !

Yep, you're totally right. The department managers who fight to have admin rights for their users end up getting billed for the time it takes to "roll back" their computers. They're learning their lesson as I type...fiscally painful. :)
