I just had JSS installed yesterday and I am running into an issue. I enrolled my iPad to be managed by the JSS, and two of the apps I decided to manage is Gmail and Pages (just testing to see how it goes.) I have the latest version of Gmail already installed, but the Self service is still prompting me to update the Gmail app. When I do try to update the app the install hangs, and I get the message: Unable to Download Application. "Gmail" could not be installed at this time. (Ditto Pages.)

If you push out an app to Self Service (Ex:Pages version 4) and install the app. Then you do an app update through the App Store and pages gets upgraded to version 5, Self Service will prompt you that there are updates when there really isn't since the JSS is referring to an older version of the app while the iPad has a newer app. So basically it is trying to downgrade the app and the progress bar for the update hangs at about 50-60% or you get the message that it is "Unable to Download Application".
Jamf recommends upgrading to version 8.61 since app updates can be disabled through the JSS with this version. They recommend doing updates through the App Store.
