We have some iMac computers that hang with a "Beach Ball" during casper imaging.
We use a Netboot environment, and what happens is the machine boots, goes through the grey apple screen with the spinning gear,
It will then load the GUI, and I get a menu bar with "Casper Imaging" in the title and then nothing else... it just hangs there with a beach ball forever.
This is only with certain machines, all of my other iMac computers boot and image just fine, which have identical hardware to the ones that don't work.
Has anyone else seen this behavior, and if so, come up with a solution to this?
Thanks!

What is the version number of the OS your using to Netboot?

A few questions,
What version iMac?
If intel have you looked into using JAMF's Netinstall creator and using
the resulting netinstall set instead of netboot image?
Are these machines in your JSS? If so try completely removing them from
the records then netboot and image.
We've had various issues here with iMac and netbooting and have been
able to fix all of them so far.
One issue was that for some reason imaging was failing because of bad
information in the JSS, when we deleted the record of that machine and
re-imaged it was fine.
Another issue had to do with PKG's and intels so we had to switch to
using the netinstall set instead of netboot. Again not sure why
EXACTLY, but the problem with laying down PKG's on the intels at image
time went away.
Just a couple ideas, you may have already covered those bases though.
