Hi Everyone,
This is only my second post here so please understand Im still a rookie when it comes to driving the JSS.
I have successfully deployed flash and java updates by recompiling the source in composer before uploading the dmg to Casper and this worked well.
I am currently trying to install a plugin for adobe cs6 called Blurb and the pkg was dragged into casper admin and then the install failed due to an "Unknown Error". I have tried to recompile the pkg through composer by "Converting to source" but this fails aswell
The only way i can make the Blurb Plugin work successfully is to snapshot the deployment but am wondering if this happens all the time with pkgs? and if there is something im not doing correctly here?

It certainly doesn't happen with all pkg's quite often you can just drop them straight into Casper Admin and have them work.
One way of getting around this if you really want the installer run as intended is to bundle the pkg into a dmg that places it somewhere on the target machine, then use a script set to run after to install and then delete the pkg all from the local machine.

One thing you will quickly discover is that Adobe's products are about as bad as it comes for compatibility with Casper, most other vendors play much nicer.

I congratulate you for sorting out the flash and java patching issue on your own. however, both of those packages can be deployed directly form the developers installer .pkgs. First, you have to sign up with adobe as a site administrator and then you can get their Flash (and other) installers for Mac Admins. it's a nice flat .pkg that you can just drag into Casper Admin. Java is a little more interesting. you can dig into the installer and pull out the actual .pkg and just drag that into Casper Admin. FYI
Here's a great walkthrough on the Java .pkg from @rtrouton https://derflounder.wordpress.com/2015/03/04/oracles-java-8-update-40-the-good-the-bad-and-the-ugly/
and the Adobe administrator distribution page:
(Well, you'll have to google it. By the terms of my agreement we can't share the direct URL. You can apply here http://www.adobe.com/products/players/flash-player-distribution.html
