Delete icons used for Self Service?

Hello, how do I delete Self Service policy icons we are no longer using? The list of available icons on my JSS is getting rather ridiculous. Thank you!

Probably something you'd need to do directly on the database itself from MySQL CLI, as there is nothing in the GUI to do that.

If you're seeing a ton of duplicate icons in your JSS for SS policies you may want to vote up this Feature Request:

As a work around, we are using Sequel Pro to connect to the DB and erase duplicates there (a nice GUI interface for DB maintenance). Unfortunately that means that all those self service policies that used the duplicated icons will now have no icon.

So, basically the duplicate policy feature is a turd when it comes to self service. Who wants 36 identical Flash icons in their options of icons to use? The only other option is create fresh policies for every self service instance, since you can't remove an icon once it is attached (unless you remove the image file from the Database, but that would still leave a reference to a deleted DB entry).

I created a feature request for managing policy icons: https://jamfnation.jamfsoftware.com/featureRequest.html?id=1474

please vote up.

@mm2270: Voted up your feature request

@ctangora: Thank you for mentioning sequelpro! it looks much better than mysql workbench.

@Sonic84, the Feature Request was from @ctangora, not from me, but thanks for voting it up anyway. I'm in agreement that the JSS should not be making copies of the icons that way. I'll take a look at your new one and vote it up as well.

ctangora, thanks for the mention of sequelpro.
