Hi,
We are in the process of running software inventory on a large number of machines in our environment. I've noticed a few apps that aren't approved and would need to be installed or copied over to the APps folder with only admin priv. None of the users have admin priv. Would it be possible that casper is counting them in the inventory list if they're just mounted as DMGs?
Thanks for any feedback!

No, Casper shouldn't see those. The only possible way i can think it would is if you added in an additional application path in the inventory collection of /Volumes/ Then any app in a mounted volume might get picked up, but I'm not even certain it would in that case.
Is it possible the users are just copying them to their home directory and you have /Users/ as a search path for applications in Casper?

I'd double check my search paths. Thanks MM2270!

If a dmg is mounted when an inventory process take place then it will listed under Storage in the stations JSS record. Something you can check if you are curious.
Also, is there a ~/Applications folder? I am not sure if Caper will inventory this location by default along with /Applications.
