Address?

Yes, you should never have two computers with the sane MAC address, so 1, why do you have 2 computers with the same MAC address,

That's highly unusual but certainly not impossible. We actually received
multiple printers in an order with the same MAC address.
I wouldn't even try to manage these machines as they are since so much
(Casper identification and network routing) relies on a valid MAC address.
Have you contacted Apple about "repairing" one of them?

The problem with contacting Apple is that they are both iBook's with
replacement Logic Boards from Apple, that "happen" to have the same MAC
address....

As a repair technician I've never seen this before! How interesting.
Are the ibook's in warranty to get another MLB repair?

Never seen this either. Are you sure it's the same serial number?? If the repair tech doesnt run the reserializer the logic boards will have the same serial. The MAC address though is branded to every network interface so in an ibook theres at least 2, one for ethernet and 1 for airport. I wonder if theres a way to tell casper to recognize the machine by the airport address and not the built in ethernet.

There no fix no matter what Casper can do as duplicat mac address can
cause havoc with switchs
Only answer is for a replacement or repair as mac addresses must be
unique

Apple should be able to repair this. This will cause problems with network
packet routing and should be fixed.
Xerox once sent us printers that had the same MAC address. If you would
print to one you had a 50 50 shot as to where the job would be printed.
Xerox sent us a utility and I was able to flash the network card and change
the MAC.

Unique serials numbers, same MAC addresses. Attach is screenshots for the
curious.
I sent in a GSX help ticket -- we'll see if they will do anything about it.
The most interesting part is that they were both repaired around the same
time:
iBook G3 - UV325187PET
Bought 06/07/03
Mail-In 04/07/08 (logic board replacement)
iBook G3 -UV32517QPET
Bought 06/27/03
Mail-In 04/21/08 (logic board replacement)

In case anyone is curious -- Apple replaced one of the Logic Boards free of
charge.
