Question

Execute script before configuration profile is installed

Forum|alt.badge.img+4

Hi All,

We've got here a user-level configuration profile, it's payload carries everything to setup the Mail app. Because of the fact that it's payload has to install on user-level we have to send sudo jamf mdm -userLevelMdm before that payload installs to the computers. The idea we have is to make the initial role out as easy as possible and thus want to have the Mail configuration as self-service item. We do not find any option to easily run a script before a payload get's installed. Anybody else found workarounds? One way of doing it would be to create an installer package that contains both scripts, the first is the script that enables the user-level mdm, then a 2nd script would execute the profiles command that installs the payload and then the payload itself. We find that a bit questionable so does anybody know if there's a more elegant way to do this?

Thanks,

Alex
