This is our first attempt at imaging with a Boot Camp/Win XP
partition. Does the winclone image get categorized as an OS with a
priority of one or as something else? When building the configuration,
does the winclone image get added as a package or is it just included
when working under the Additional Partitions tab, as the image to be
installed on the new partition? Thanks.

I've used the winclone image in a Casper Configuration successfully. The winclone package I put in the "OS" group and priority 2, but it doesn't matter as long as it is not priority 1. Then in your Configuration -> Additional Partitions, you add it as the image to lay down in the "Install this window image" menu. Works great for us depending on how good your Winclone and syspred image is. Sounds like you are doing it correctly.

I'm using a winclone image set as priority 1. We're not use additional
partitions. We create the partition with disk util or boot camp assistant
and then use casper imaging to install the image just like we would an os
x image.
