Having a issue mounting a distro point that I just created in vm

Fresh install of Ubuntu Linux 14.04 got Samba installed and tested can't apple K to the share on a mac but work everywhere else logs are blank. Im missing something I have set the rights for my users it is there a trick or does someone have a vm all ready and clean they would like to share with me:)

Does the VM live on the same network or a routable network from your client machines?

are you connecting via network with smb://<IPHERE>/<sharehere>
