Hi,
I am trying to lock down the Macs in the school I work in as much as possible. Struggling a little with Profile Manager. All I want to be able to do is hide some access to icons in the Go menu.
Especially for the Network icon.
I don't want the students to be able to click on Network and see all the server names and machines that populate. Been looking for something and cannot find it. Is there some kind of Plist that will do this?
thanks,
Nick.

+1 on this.
I'm trying to hide Network from the Go menu and also from within Computer folder, for a school environment as well.
There's the option to hide "Connect to Server" in Configuration Profiles, under "Finder", but I'm thinking this will require a write to the finder defaults.
Did you find anything, Don? I'll let you know if I come up with anything.

I know this is an old thread, but I'm also interested in hiding some of the icons in the Go menu (Home, Computer, AirDrop, etc) and am having a hard time finding any information about doing this. I see there is a way in Composer to capture Finder Preferences, but in order for that to work I'd need to at least figure out how to hide these icons on my own computer (which I don't know how to do).
Thanks
