home share...

Hi everyone, Currently, I have settings scoped to AD student accounts to map home
shares at login. We're using MCX and not the mount network share script
provided by JAMF and it easily passes the credentials at the Window
Server. It works great unless we have large parties of students logging
in simultaneously. If this happens then none of the clients mount the
share and people have to log in one-at-a-time. Is anyone else
experiencing this or have any idea as to how we can avoid this behavior
given our current strategy?

Yes, we're using an AD server. We're not using sync. We have a lot of
users but it's hard to say how many are connecting when this happens. I
suppose we could check when it's happening but it doesn't appear to
matter. Is there a known threshold or doesn't it depend upon your
network? We are using Kerberos authentication and MCX.

What are they authenticating against, an AD server? Do you have home folder sync? How many users? Sounds to me like the server is getting too much at once almost. I assume since you are using MCX you are fully kerberized?
