Hi... i had my training 8 months ago... jumpstart... but im starting only now to develop and start using casper suite...
my question is... how do i create a small nbi netboot to netboot computer into casper so it starts imaging by itself... ?
right now my base nbi is about 7gb and takes forever to boot... i had one previous made on deploystudio that was 2gb and was working perfectly... but this one loads for ever and never gets to the os....

Take a look at these 2 KB articles as a start if you haven't done so yet:

There is also good advice on this thread to help reduce the image:

And on this sone, although be aware of the age of that thread. Closing in on 4 years old, but still has some good information you can use.

you can have a copy of my netboot modifier if your require, just email me
The side of the netboot image is not relevant, it just takes up more space on a server, and with modern servers have TB drives its not worth the effort, reducing the size of the netboot image is not cost effective, as time cost. And the size has no effect what soever on performance or the network.
With my app could can prevent finder and dock from running, auto login as root and load Casper imaging with your jss details, and with the netboot menu added you get quick access to other service like disk utility etc.
And if you want my pre-imaging version it will erase all volumes on the drive before launching casper imaging so it can wipe the drive first. useful if your creating multiple partitions that you need erasing on imaging.

Have you managed to have a look at your Netboot modifier on 10.9?
I haven't tried it yet but wondered if it worked ok.
Thanks it's awesome

@Bukira Yeah, i'd like to test your latest modifier too please for 10.9. I've not actually attempted to use your existing version yet.
