iOS 14 always-on VPN

I have a very odd probleem on my table at the moment and I couldn’t find anything relevant online so I was wondering maybe anyone has seem similar issue.

Since iOS 14.0 came there is an issue with IKEv2 always-on VPN staying in „connecting“ status when the phone is in 4G/LTE and can’t connect to the VPN after a restart or airplane mode. The only way to get VPN working again is to enable wi-fi and then it connects again and keeps connected even on 4G. The same issue is with iOS 14.0.1 and iPadOS

I just added an Always ON IKEv2 VPN on my iPhone and have the same issue. I never used this with iOS 13 so I didn’t even consider it was an iOS 14 issue.

The issue was resolved with iOS 14.1.
