iPad pairing not working if App Store is Disabled

Hello,

Has anyone else noticed this? I suspect it is an Apple 8.x issue..

If a Mobile Device Configuration Profile has a Restriction of 'Allow installing apps’ = False, then the App Store is hidden from the user. However it is also blocking the ability to plug an iPad into a computer, which I’d like to allow. It blocks this ability no matter if 'Allow host pairing with the exception of the supervision host (supervised only)’ = True OR False. The actual keys are named allowAppInstallation and allowHostPairing. I downloaded and compared the config profiles so I think Casper is doing everything correctly.

If there is an existing pairing relationship it still works, this affects new pairing only.

Have not tried this, however, what would happen if you configured the same settings from Apple Configurator then tried to connect that iPad to another machine. Same results?

I came across my own post while looking for something similar, so a quick update:

I am not seeing this with an iPad running iOS 8.3, JSS 9.65.
