iPads losing connection to server

We are an education institution and I manage about 550 iPad Air 1st Gen.
Lately I'm seeing an issue where the iPads will lose their connection to the JSS and the only way to fix the issue is to reset the network settings on the iPad.
The iPads are various versions of iOS 10 and all 150 iPads have the same basic configuration profiles installed.
Is there a reason that this could be happening?
