I have a problem with a Mavericks (10.9.1) machine that wont connect to our AFP shares when we try to open documents that are stored there. It connects fine through the Finder and I can browse the share there. But if I open an application on that machine and then try open a file stored through for instance, Photoshop or Word, on our shares it displays an error message: "Connection failed".
I've tried to do the following:
- Disable WiFi, and only connect through cable.
- Disable Ethernet and only connect through WiFi.
- Connect to the server by typing in the IP-address
- Connect to server by typing afp://IP or afp://sharename
- Flush System and User caches
What seems to work is to connect to the server by typing: SMB://sharename or IP-address.
The shares are served from a Windows server that is running Extreme Z. This problem is only related to one machine so far. Any ideas?
