Fellow Jamfnation citizens,

While macOS High Sierra is not anymore supported by Apple, does Jamf still allow to install jamf binary on Macbooks with  unsupported macOS and allow to manage or supervise them ? Does the same apply to other unsupported macOS like Big Sur and Catalina?

Have a look at the published system requirements here. They’re “untested”.

It may install, or it may not install. Some of the functions of the Jamf binary may or may not work as intended. Personally, I would not try it. Trying to manage something fully unsupported aside, any unpatched macOS is a security risk to have on your network.

Config profiles and Policies seem to still work down to OS X 10.11, however, inventory will not submit on macOS 10.14 and earlier, so it's of limited usefulness.  I'm keeping some older devices in Jamf in order to get them updated to at least macOS 10.15, where everything appears to work for now.
