Hello,
We are going to use Jamf Security Cloud (Radar) on our macOS devices.
We will not be using the ZTNA part.
I still haven't understood if the Jamf Trust application is really necessary if we are not using ZTNA and, if it is necessary, what does it bring?
Thank you for your help.

Hello,
The Jamf Trust application is typically used in conjunction with Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA) to ensure that only trusted devices and users can access corporate resources. It helps enforce security policies on devices, like verifying the integrity of the device and its compliance with security standards before granting access.
If you are not using ZTNA, the Jamf Trust application may still offer benefits, but it is not strictly necessary for basic functionality of Jamf Security Cloud (Radar). Without ZTNA, the application won't be actively involved in controlling access to network resources, but it could still be useful for other purposes:
Device Compliance: Jamf Trust can check if the macOS devices are compliant with your security policies (e.g., device encryption, operating system version, etc.).
Identity Management: It can play a role in managing user authentication, such as ensuring that only authorized users can access certain applications or services.
Enhanced Security: Even without ZTNA, Jamf Trust could still help with additional security measures, such as detecting any anomalies or threats on devices and applying policies accordingly.
To summarize, while Jamf Trust is tightly integrated with ZTNA, it can still provide value for securing devices and ensuring compliance in your environment, even if ZTNA is not in use. However, it is not essential if you do not need these extra layers of security and identity management.
Best Regards
