Jamf connect - new regsitration - username without a .

Hi.. we are fairly new to Jamf connect. When we register existing machines, the username retains its original name - ie.. firstnamlastname. When we deploy it in a DEP build to new macs, the username it creates is firstname.lastname. We use AzureAD
Is there anyway does anyone know, for jamf connect to not add the '.' into the username? We need this for an application that uses this exact username without a '.' to map policies.

I believe Jamf Connect Login creates the username based on the "User logon name:" in AzureAD, which is often set to the beginning of the email address. Do you notice this naming scheme if you bind PC's to AzureAD?
