The Jamf Pro 10.5 beta adds new features for managing Apple TV devices, includes a new script editor, and enhances various workflows.

IT admins managing Apple TV devices will be able to easily utilize the AirPlay permissions feature of Jamf Pro to create iOS Remote App pairings en masse with AirPlay permissions. This enables users to fully control Apple TV and the connected display with just an iOS device. This is great for organizations that deploy Apple TVs to shared rooms and is only possible when both devices are managed by Jamf Pro.

The new script editor adds syntax highlighting for popular languages, themes to customize the look and feel, plus new keyboard shortcut commands. This will help you write and edit scripts more effectively. The same styling and keyboard shortcuts can also be used in logs files and extension attributes.

Finally, workflow enhancements include the ability to enable or disable Bluetooth via a management command, the ability to suppress proximity setup via the Healthcare Listener, and enhancements to the user-initiated enrollment process.

How to join the beta
If you would like to participate in the beta program, please enroll at the beta homepage on Jamf Nation under My Assets. After enrollment, please reference our Release Notes (coming soon) for a complete listing of what is included in the beta build. Remember, this is a beta release. We strongly encourage that you not install this software in a production environment.

As always, the beta program is operated under non-disclosure, so please do not share any information regarding your testing on any public forum, including the non-beta sections of Jamf Nation. Use the Jamf Nation beta forums or contact Jamf with any questions regarding the beta.

Thank you to all those who participate in the program.

We are planning to upgrade our JAMF pro to 10.5 from 10.1 and it is running in Windows server. We are using external SSL certificate. While upgrading do we need to take any extra precautions to preserve SSL settings or we can follow normal upgrade steps to do this apart from Database backup.
