Question

Java process freezing server

Forum|alt.badge.img+4

There is a java process that I am seeing in activity monitor on the server that needs to be restarted often in order for our Casper server to operate properly. Sometimes it may be a few times a week or a month that I need to restart this service. Is anyone seeing a similar behavior? Our server is a 10.7.5 using JSS 8.62. The java process is using about 600-650MB os Real Mem when the problem occurs which doesn't allow for me to access the online management tool, imaging, or even VNC into the server. 2.8 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon with 16 GB of RAM. Thanks in advance!

not currently a solution, but I'm having the same issue right now. I have contacted JAMF support as I can't figure out why Java keeps eating all the resources. Hopefully i get an answer soon.

You might need to allocate more memory to Tomcat. We had this issue some time ago and it relieved the problem.
