JSS 9.31: Search defaults (per user) are "Exact"...simple fix...

Migrated from 8.73 > 9.31, fairly smooth, minor hiccups, all issues resolved. I'm gonna owe JAMF a whole lot'a beers at JNUC 2014! :)

Search defaults to "Exact"...we alerted JAMF, they're looking into relaxing the default. If you go to: your JSS account preferences (click on your name by the cog on the top right in JSS 9.31) > Search Preferences

...from there, change "Exact" to a more forgiving setting. So you get the old behavior back. :)

Well, some might not like it, but I thank you for that as I'm used to the crappy, I hate wildcard searches method. Assuming I can ever get my Wintel JSS up to 9.3.2. :)
It would be interesting though to know why they made the change - as was mentioned in the other thread, maybe there's a good reason? I guess if it was bad, they'd not let us make that change...

@mm2270 and @boettchs, that's the beauty of having options, everyone gets to tweak it so it works best for them. :)

@mm2270 posted on the other page, responding here:

This is assuming you actually want the old behavior back. I realize its been a thorn in the side for many, but let's not jump to assumptions that everyone out there just wants the old behavior back. I guess I'm just saying that I don't know if I agree that JAMF should make the default behavior act like the old one. If they want to do that, that's fine, but they may have a valid reason for keeping the default as the new wildcard needed syntax and let anyone change it back as desired.
