Hello all. We've just started deploying Mac App Store apps via device-based VPP to a teaching lab. We've turned off the option to automatically update, as the teachers are concerned that updates might change the app's user interface and break their teaching materials (screenshots). Instead we're going to patch the apps at the end of each term.
I'd like to know what happens when an update is made available in the Mac App Store, as the teachers are worried that students could be interrupted by update prompts and possibly update the apps themselves. My understanding is that it's the JSS which prompts the apps to be installed, so an update becoming available will trigger nothing on the client and there's no way the student can initiate an update. Can anyone confirm, please?
