+1We have just begun experimenting with applying 10.8.1 images to our hardware. What we have noticed is that using Casper Imaging 8.6 with a 8.6 JSS is that completed Macs show up as - in ARD and the Computer Name field in the Sharing preference pane is blank on the local machine.
Has anyone else experienced this? Is there a work around?

+26The workaround right now I think is to build your OS packages on the hardware you're deploying to.
I had this issue when I deployed an OS that I built on a retins MBPro to a non-retina.
Building a new OS (and I'm using Composer for this) on my newest non-retina new MBPro fixed this for me.
I believe this is an Apple defect... you can probably find more by searching localhost or name
